Birth injuries mustn't be overlooked, watch for the symptoms

When your baby is born, you are probably going to ooh and ahh over the perfect little newborn. Some parents might initially go through that stage of awe and then begin to notice that something is amiss with the baby. In some cases, that might mean that the baby was the victim of a birth injury.

We know that a normal life is all you want for your child. Sadly, a birth injury can mean that the normal life you were looking forward to doesn't happen. Five to seven out of every 1,000 births are associated with birth injuries in this country. That means that all parents should be aware of some of the symptoms of birth injuries.

These birth injury symptoms might not all be present in your child's case. If you notice any of them, you should take steps to determine if your child did suffer a birth injury. Excessive crying, fractures, paralysis, clenched fists, jerky movements, limited mobility, bruising and developmental delays are some of the symptoms of birth injuries that parents should watch for.

Some birth injuries might be noticeable before you leave the hospital with your baby. Others might not be noticed until much later. No matter what type of birth injury your baby has or when you notice it, we can help you to determine if seeking compensation for that injury is something that you should pursue.

Seeking compensation can help you to get the financial backing that will allow you to get your child necessary assistance. It can also hold the medical staff accountable for their actions that led to the injury.
